Covid-19: Two Masaka Mechanics test positive, RDC Ssentongo confirms

Two Masaka Mechanics test positive, RDC sentongo confirms. Whisper Eye Reports.

Masaka District Resident Commissioner (RDC) Herman Ssentongo has confirmed that two mechanics from Nyendo suburb of Masaka city have tested positive the deadly Corona Virus.

Mr Ssentongo has told Whisper Eye that the two mechanics (names withheld) got a job two weeks ago to fix mechanical problem on a Truck from Tanzania which had parked in Buwama town along Kampala Masaka road.

After working on the truck, the two went home but after some days they became weak and started feeling bad.

On their response, they went to a private clinic, and received no help.

Thus they went to Masaka regional referral hospital and samples were taken for diagnosis, which confirmed that the two are Covid-19 patients.

“Now the corona Virus is not in China, Italy or Kampala but it is here on Masaka,’ says RDC Ssentongo.

“The struggle to truck all residents that have been with these two mechanics has started already, from their relatives to friends and workmates, the RDC explained.”

Two weeks ago a truck from Tanzania registration number T274 BSD had mechanical issues with the engine in Buwama town, residents abandoned the truck in fear of Corona Virus.

It has been not yet established whether it is this truck that the two attended too or not.

Today now Masaka region has three Covid-19 victims as the first Mr Banya who was in United Arab Emirates has recovered from the pandemic.
