Gen Tumukunde treason case adjourned for a month

City Hall court has once again adjourned the mention of Lt Gen Henry Tumukunde treason , possession of arms case to allow prosecution time to complete its investigations into the matter.

The ruling this morning following a request by the state attorney, for more time to conclude the investigations.

State said that given the fact that treason is a capital offence, it requires exhaustive investigations to collect all the required evidence.

As the law requires that investigations are completed within six months, there should be an exception given the gravity of the matter before court.

The case was was adjourned to June 22nd for mention and hearing.

Gen Tumukunde was dragged to court by the state in March for allegedly treason and possession of fire arms

He was released by Justice Kwesiga on bail after spending close to sixty days on remand.
