Security maintains Lockdown until June 2 as it clarify on President Museveni Monday address

Security maintains Lockdown until June 2 as it clarify on President Museveni Monday address . Whisper Eye Reports.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni ended his updates on Covid-19 pandemic yesterday, and most people were left confused about the control measures.

To remove the confusion, the Joint Security Taskforce in a Tuesday statement made clarification.

According to the Joint Security Task Force, all the businesses the president said would open will only do so once masks have been distributed to all Ugandans.

From the presidential directives lockdown stays as has been until June 2, 2020, when it is said masks will be ready for everyone.

“These will be delivered through the LC system by June 2, 2020, and will lead to the activation of business that include hotels, restaurants and general merchandise shops outside malls,” the task force said in a statement.

“The government has also eased the lockdown on schools and tertiary institutions with candidates, as well as public and private transport.

However, all these businesses and activities will effectively resume after the completion of the massive distribution of the free face masks,” adds the statement.

“All members of the Joint Security Task force have been tasked to enforce the directive and further educate the public on the health and safety risks, as well as the potential consequences of not wearing face masks while in the public.”

The statement says a detailed enforcement program will be availed in due course.

Although the President was clear in his address that all changes will be effective after 14 days and after the government distribution of masks, many people wanted to immediately effect them today.
