Uganda’s first ever Green New Deal presidential candidate Mugerwa Timothy has criticised Mr Museveni for benefiting politically from Covid-19.

The Climatic activist told Whisper Eye that president Museveni has turned the Covid-19 pandemic a campaign tool at the expense of his competitors.

Mr Mugerwa declared to face it off with president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni in 2021.

‘If it wasn’t for Covid-19, police and the army would be in running battles with opposition,’ says Mr Mugerwa.

“As it stands, people are getting poorer since they are no longer working. Their immediate need is food and who is there to provide? President Museveni in the name of government.” He said.

Young Intelligent environmentalist acused president Museveni to turn into the beneficiary of the Covid-19 pandemic.

‘Like in every problem, there are always beneficiaries. The beneficiary in this is none other than Museveni and his NRM,’ states Mr Mugerwa.

Hon Kyagulanyi Robert Ssentamu, Dr Kiiza Besigye, Mr Mugerwa Timothy, and others who have expressed interest to contest with president Museveni have been denied any chance to contribute their input in fighting the deadly Coronavirus in the country.
