Uganda’s top man of God , Pastor Augustine Yiga of Kawaala based Revival Christian Church in Lubaga Division in Kampala, has finally been released from Prison. WhisperEye Reports
His worship Timothy Lumunye of Mengo court Grade One has released Pastor Yiga on a non-cash bond of UGX 2 M about 600. USD amidst jubilation from his fellowers.
The outspoken renowned pastor has spent close to a month at Kitalya Government prison for what government accused him of attering words likely to cause the spread Coronavirus pandemic.
Pastor Yiga bail was delivered via Video Conferencing at Buganda road court based court in Kampala.
Magistrate Timothy asked Yiga to obey Uganda’s Ministry of Health operating guidelines and Laws in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
According to court Prosecution alleges that Pastor Yiga on the 27th/March/2020 while at his Church office in Kampala uttered words to mean that there is no coronavirus in Uganda and Africa at large, well knowing that such words are likely to spread coronavirus.
His surety included tamale Mirundi , at a non-cash bond of 5mshs and ensure that Pastor Yiga returns to court on 25th/June/2020 .
In a court ruling Court restrained Pastor Yiga from making any comments inform of opinions on COVID-19 pandemic before his church followers, on Television or any social platform whether by way of interview or online posting.
Yiga is facing charges of doing an act likely to spread an infectious disease, an allegation he has totally denied.
