UYD Kyotera Chapter in preparations to weed-up NRM from the district. Whisper Eye Reports.
Uganda Young Democrats (UYD) Kyotera branch has launched a mega plan to defeat National Resistance Movement (NRM) throughout the entire district.
Members agreed to back-up Democratic Party (DP) flag bearers linked to Bobi Wine’s People Power Movement.
‘I believe we must give time to building capacity of young people to make them fit and ready to take up political offices and offer effective and efficient leadership once elected,’ says Mr Kalyango Tonny.
“All efforts are towards reviving Uganda Young Democrats (UYD) Kyotera Chapter to serve as a vehicle for civic mobilization and equipping them with necessary skills through grassroot trainings.” he added.
The meeting was held at Kalisizo Town Council, chaired by UYD district organising secretary Kalyango Tonny.
‘Those aspiring for Youths councillorship in all Sub Counties of Kyotera were introduced to Youth Council elections process and they are fit to kickstart mobilization on their respective villages.” Mr Kalyango told Whisper Eye .
UYD commanders resolved that all NRM flag bearers must lose the elections.
Including Museveni’s state minister Hajj Haruna Kyeyune Kasolo who doubles as the area MP for Kyotera County;
Ms Nakitedde Rachael NRM woman MP flag bearer;
District LC V chairman Mr Kintu Kisekulo and other local government councillors.
Kyotera district was curved from Rakai district in 2017.
DPs Ssentongo Robina Nakasirye won the mini elections and become the first Woman MP for the newly created district.
