Lukanga Alexander suspected to be a homsexuality wanted by police

Mr Lukanga Alexander a young man set to be arrested over links to homsexuality . Whisper Eye Reports.

Area Uganda Police operation raided a suspected gay neighborhood and arrested at least 4 people, accusing them of promoting homosexuality, a rights activist told Whisper Eye media on Monday.

In Uganda ,Gays and lesbians experience considerable hostility as the country is largely conservative .

Uganda is among the 37 countries on the continent where homosexuality is illegal.

The LGBT community in Uganda live a very secretive lives, not only from the community but also fearful from close family and friends , or being proounced a cursed human.

Ms Clare second name withhled a gay rights activist, told Whisper Eye Uganda Police operatives showed up at Mengo rented houses a suburb of the capital Kampala in Rubaga North constituency at about 11:30 p.m on Monday and accused Mr Lukunga of promoting homosexuality, in Mengo before arresting some 4 in the neighborhoods.

“They (Police) were dragging every one around asking Lukanga whereabouts . Said Claire.

According to his cousin brother a corporate lawyer in Kampala , Mr Egan Wonders confirmed these reports and he said at the moment all efforts are to be used to ensure law prevails.

When asked about the whereabouts of his brother , he declined to say.

However our reliable sources indicate Lukanga may have escaped to a neighbouring country for fear on what may happen.

ACP Enanga, a police spokesman, said as police they follow the law and acting on there intelligence , they carried out an operation which men were arrested and confirmed some escaped over various crimes.

He discouraged to reveal their names as police investigations are still on going .

Uganda triggered widespread western criticism after it enacted a harsh anti-gay law that handed out life sentences for some homosexual offences.

A constitutional court later overturned the law because of legal technicalities.

A police officer who declined to reveal his names told our reporter that it’s true Mr Lukanga is awanted man.

He will be arrested because he has been recuriting and promoting same sex practices among various groups in Mengo, a mean looking black officer emphasized.

Nicholas Opiyo a human rights lawyer said he will reach out to authorities over the continued mistreatment of gay in Uganda.
