The police in Lwengo are investigating the circumstances under which two people were killed by unknown assailants and their bodies dumped in two separate areas.
According to Muhammad Nsubuga, the Masaka Regional Police spokesperson, the first body of a male adult aged between 35 and 40 years was discovered at Piida village, Kyawagonya parish on Wednesday. The body was dumped by the roadside where the residents found it and called the police to the scene.
He says the body was taken to Kyazanga Health Centre III for postmortem as they investigate to identify the killers and family members.
Another body of a male juvenile aged between 14 and 16 years was found in Kaganda village in Kinoni town council today. Nsubuga explains that the minor’s body was taken to Masaka Regional Referral Hospital for a postmortem.
It is believed that the deceased were killed from different places and their bodies dumped in these villages since the residents and local authorities could not identify them.
He further urged family members whose loved ones are missing to check with Masaka police or Kyazanga HCIII and Masaka RRH.
He appealed to the public to be vigilant and improve their neighbourhood watch for their safety. END
