Patient reportedly hanged self in Zombo

A man reportedly committed suicide in Molujei cell, Patek West ward, Zombo Town Council Zombo District on October 16 whilst going back home from a Hospital.

The deceased has been identified as Lawrence Abedican, a resident of Pasay Parish Alangi Sub-county.

The LC1 chairperson of Molujei cell Francis Ongula revealed that The body was discovered hanging on a tree, 

” The deceased hanged himself using a piece of clothing” He said 

He added that ” he had a medical form showing that he  was coming from a  hospital” 

By press time, Police from Zombo Police Post were yet to visit the crime scene.

Recent cases of suicide were registered in the same Zombo Town Council, Paidha Town Council and Abanga in Zombo District.

Suicide attempts and deaths have become common occurrences among Uganda’s youth and retirees which health experts are attributing to economic depression and drug abuse amongst other factors.
