Democratic Party (DP) president the former Gulu LV chairman Norbert Mao in a fresh 2021 presidential bid.

Mao who also represented Gulu municipality for two five-year terms officially declared his interest to challenge President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni a dream he had while a student at Namilyango College

“As I embark on a nationwide non partisan consultation for my 2021 presidential bid, it was a great honor to be received by the Supreme Mufti of Uganda, Sheikh Siliman Kasule Ndirangwa, at his offices in Kibuli,” says Mao

“The meeting was cordial and fruitful. We discussed.” He added.

Mr Mao is has joined Dr Kiiza Besigye Kifeefe, Kyadondo East legislator hon Kyagulanyi Robert Ssentamu, all from opposition who have declared 2021 presidential bid recently.

Uganda’s 2021 general election is a big test to one of the longest serving president in Africa Mr Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

Whisper Eye Reports indicate that Norbert Mao received funding from various organisation to help him in runing asecond shot at the presidency .

These funds have not only helped fund DP activities comprised of the DP Bloc but these funds will facilitate Mao consultations in the coming weeks, A senior DP leader confirmed to Whisper Eye.
