Mr. Atwooki Issa the district production officer stated that 42 of the 43 SACCOs have received UGX 57 millions each while Nanda SACCO got UGX 32 millions.

He added that 42 PDM SACCOs are expecting an additional 50 millions each before the end of June while Nanda is expecting 75 millions.

Clarifying on the criteria used in selecting beneficiaries, Mr. Atwooki Issa stated that groups nominate beneficiaries who apply for the loan from their PDM SACCO.

The computer data used during registration then is used to determine if the nominated beneficiary is subsistence.

He further narrated that in some cases, adjustments have been made to have village meetings to authenticate the status of beneficiaries.

Hon Aliguma Edith the district chairperson appreciated the efforts made by government to get people out of poverty but also warned beneficiaries to desist from wasting the money intended to help them come out of poverty.

The Parish Development Model program was initially meant to give each parish shillings 100 millions per year.

The Parish Development Model is a government initiative aimed at creating more meaningful ways to fight poverty in the country.
