Just In: EC finally suspends Presidential campaigns in Kampala. Whisper Eye Reports
Whisper Eye has learned that Uganda Electoral Commission has suspended presidential campaigns in major towns including Kampala.
According to Electoral Commission the suspension takes immediate effect as according to Health Ministry major towns with large numbers are categorized as “High Risk” in spread of Coronavirus pandemic.
Mr Paul Bukenya has confirmed the new development.
The Electoral Commission spokesperson said
the commission has suspended campaign meetings in districts/cities categorized by Ministry of Health as having high spread of Covid19.
“From 26/12/20, no campaign meetings will be held in Mbarara, Kabarole, Luwero, Kasese, Masaka, Wakiso, Kabarole, Jinja, Kalungu, Kazo, Kampala & Tororo,” Mr Bukenya said.
