The National Resistance Movement (NRM) candidate for Mpigi district speakership race Patrick Katende is poised to emerge victorious after NUP cacaus meeting ended without a clear plan.

A source intimated to Whisper Eye News that NRM released money and managed to convince two councillors to vote for Mr Katende out of seven, against 19 NRM councillors.

The source also revealed that NRM planted spies inside NUP camp, and whenever NUP candidate Mr Kibirige Ronald Kaggwa, who is also the direct councillor for Kammengo Sub County and the out going district speaker meet NUP councillors information leak to NRM.

Although the district chairman LC. V elect Mr Kawuki Peter tried to lure some NRM councillors to NUP Camp, NUP councillor leaked information to NRM, reacting with offering money and more promises that forced these councillors to turn back to NRM camp.
