Mr Ogutu who was the MP for Bukhooli County Central constituency backed the embattled comedians saying that according to the social media video they released about tribalism is true.

“Free Bizooto, you can’t imprison the Truth. Government top jobs are given to those from the Western region, says Mr Ogutu.

Mr Ogutu is a senior journalist and is also one of the co-founders of the Daily Monitor, a privately owned English-language daily newspaper in Uganda.

Those arrested are members of ‘Bizonto’ Crew’ and also presenters on Simba FM radio station; Julius Sserwanja also known as m Kidomoole, Mbabaali Maliseeri popularly known as Uncle Luyuguumo, Sssaabakaaki Peter aks Omuzinyuuzi and Gold Ki Matono aslo known as Opeto.

According to police these comedians were spreading sectarian words through their videos.
