DP Masaka regional Mps all team up to dislodge Mbidde

DP Masaka regional Mps all team up to dislodge Mbidde. Whisper Eye Reports.

Greater Masaka Democratic Party (DP) MPs have united to dislodge EALA MP also party vice president Fred Denis Mukasa Mbidde from Masaka DP politics.

A team of MPs lead by DP party leader of Parliamentary group hon Joseph Gonzaga Ssewungu MP for Kalungu West have started an open battle against Mr Mbidde.

The team include Bukoto East MP hon Namayanja Florence who is also the Party Women President, Masaka municipality MP Hon. Mpuuga Mathias Nsamba, and Masaka district Woman MP hon Mary Ann Babirye Kabanda.

Hon Ssewungu accuses Mr Mbidde for disrupting the party in the region giving advantage to the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM).

DP women president told Whisper Eye that Mr Mbidde has conducted early party elections in greater Masaka which is against party constitution.

“Mr Mbidde has no powers to conduct party elections on the grassroots. We are following the party program,’ says hon Namayanja.

Although the DP Organising secretary Mr Sulaiman Kidandala Sserwadda who is in charge of party elections called off Masaka early elections and nullified them, Mbidde and team defied him.

Other areas are starting electing DP leaders, while greater Masaka finished last week under the influence and order of DP vice president Mr Mbidde.
