Bush fire leaves one  dead in Nebbi

A 10 year old boy has succumbed to injuries inflicted on him by a bush fire in Nebbi district.

The infant is a resident of Erusi Gosi village, Pajur Parish Erusi subcounty Nebbi district. #WhisperEyeNews

It’s reported that the fire setter only identified as Angeyanngo who was clearing her garden for cultivation had initially issued a warning several times to the two teenagers who were up on a mango tree picking ripe mangoes in the nearby bush.

 In the midst of excessive heat and blanket smoke from the bush fire, the two tried to escape by jumping down the tall Mango tree eventually the deceased got stuck in the fire that burnt him beyond recognition but his colleague escaped.

An area resident only identified as Opio was amongst those that rushed the deceased to a nearby health facility. He said the deceased but badly injured and was worked for a few minutes before he was referred.

He later died at  Angal Hospital according to the area councillor of Pajur Parish Erusi subcounty Ronald Onencan.

Local leaders say the deceased whose name was not revealed by press time is a Congolese by nationality who had just visited his relatives in Uganda.
