Ivan Kabedha, a dedicated leader with deep roots in youth and community-focused politics, has declared his intention to contest for Member of Parliament for Nakawa West Constituency on the National Resistance Movement (NRM) ticket in the 2025 elections.
Kabedha’s leadership journey began in 2011 when he served as the Youth Vice Chairperson for Banda Parish. His rise into leadership was sparked when aspiring Nakawa Mayor Zawede Suzan recognized his potential and gave him a platform to serve his community—an opportunity that marked the beginning of his path in public service.

During his early years, he worked closely with Hon. Frederick Ruhindi, the former Attorney General, as his media aide—a role that deepened his commitment to leadership and governance.
He later joined Hon. Balimwezo Ronald Nsubuga at the Mayor’s office as a Personal Assistant, then worked with Hon. Farida Nambi, and eventually returned to Nakawa Division to support Moses Mubiru, the then-Speaker of Nakawa Division. Kabedha also served as a media aide for the Presidential Initiative on Empowering Urban Youth under Kampala Coordinator Babirye Jemima Katende, now Assistant RCC for Nakawa Division.
Before contesting for the Banda Parish councilor seat in 2021 on the NRM ticket, Kabedha worked with Hon. Nanfuma Shamim, the inspiring Woman Member of Parliament for Kampala, gaining further insight into national-level representation.
Today, Kabedha seeks to represent Nakawa West in Parliament, with a bold agenda centered on youth empowerment, improved service delivery, and community-driven leadership.
With his extensive hands-on experience and unwavering dedication to public service, Ivan Kabedha stands ready to bring fresh energy and accountable leadership to Nakawa West.
“My journey has been about service and empowering our people—especially the youth. I am committed to listening to every voice in Nakawa West and ensuring that together, we build a prosperous and inclusive future for all.” – Ivan Kabedha
