In a significant move to bolster Uganda’s tourism sector, a group of influential social media personalities from France and Spain has arrived in the country. Led by Mr. Etan, the Executive Director of TANKE, the group’s visit was made possible through a partnership between the Ugandan Embassy in Paris, France, the influencers and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The collaboration was spearheaded by Ambassador Doreen Ruth Amule, whose vision recognized the potential of these influencers to add immense value to Uganda’s tourism industry.

The group, with a combined social media following of approximately 2 million people, arrived with the enthusiasm to showcase Uganda’s unmatched beauty to the world. Speaking at a brief meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in Kampala, Mr. Etan expressed his excitement about the visit.

“We see Uganda with a huge potential of reaping big from tourism as it has the best tourist attractions in the world,” he said. “We are anxious to tour the different sites and show the beauty of Uganda to the world. We want to reveal what the Pearl of Africa is truly about.”

Welcoming the group, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Vincent Waiswa Bagiire, acknowledged the invaluable opportunity that the influencers bring to the country’s tourism.

“Mr. Etan, you have brought a remarkable team. Uganda is very unique, with the best weather in the world. It’s neither too hot nor too cold throughout the year. You will witness the beautiful scenery across the country. Our colleagues in Paris are making every effort to attract tourists to Uganda. We boast a diversity of cultures and natural wonders,” he remarked.

Ambassador Doreen Ruth Amule expressed her gratitude to the influencers for accepting the invitation to Uganda. She outlined a vibrant itinerary designed to immerse the visitors in the rich cultural and natural heritage of the country.

“We shall leave Kampala to head northwest to Nakasongola, where we will trek rhinos and experience the thrill of being close to these magnificent animals. The group will also participate in milking cows, engage with Ndere Cultural Performers, and dive into the pristine waters of Lake Victoria,” she said.

The ambassador also emphasized the group’s visit to Jinja, where they will witness the breathtaking confluence of the Blue and White Nile at the Source of the Nile. The trip promises to capture the essence of Uganda’s diverse landscapes, wildlife, and cultural heritage.

As the team embarks on their journey across Uganda, they will be sharing their experiences through their social media platforms, giving millions of followers a glimpse of the vibrant and picturesque Pearl of Africa. The initiative is expected to boost Uganda’s visibility as a premier tourist destination and attract global attention to its rich offerings.
