The crunch tricky football encounter between West Nile giants Paidha United FC and Pakwach Young stars FC ended in a barren draw at Kings Stadium Cana in Zombo district.
The two greater Nebbi based sides squandered countless chances infront of goal from the game onset up to final ninety minutes.
The Sunday afternoon neck and neck tie between the two sides that sit second and third on the log, ended in a dizzying speed, with a much balanced officiation by center referee Ijaga Muzamil, assisted by Chrispus Rwothomio and Innocent Opakrwoth.
In the game , the Pakwach Young Star’s winger Bashir, missed a glorious chance to put the visitors ahead after heading the ball far and wide , and shortly after, another opportunity was denied by Paidha United goalie Herbert Ofoyrwoth inside the 18 yard box, upping the game tempo.
The first half of the game saw visitors Pakwach Young Stars pressing the home side in the first 15 minutes of the game, with no result yielded .
Paidha united that lacked lethal power upfront had a well compact defense and midfield in the first half that was slightly dominated in the second half by a well coordinated and commanded midfield of Pakwach Young stars in the second half.
On the flip side , United Striker Ronald Ogencan failed to put the home side ahead, after he was set by midfielder Zaza in the 18 yard box and their second glorious chance was wasted by Saviour Oyergiu, after he was set by Defender Jerry Kumakech in the first half.
Paidha United again squandered a clean chance inside the box, after a shot and an attempt by their striker was denied by the goal keeper and another powerful volley by United midfielder Zaza, went off the bar sending crowd wild.
Towards the end of the game, Pakwach Young stars striker failed to convert a clear-cut one on one chance with United goal keeper, after he culled the ball past the goal keeper that hit the woodwork.
Rwothomio Edward, the head coach of Paidha United FC , acknowledged that it was not the result expected , assuring of future improvements and securing maximum six points in the remaining games.
” This was not the result we expected, but this is football and that was the result, we didn’t not perform well in the second half, we are going to see how we can improve to win those remaining two games” Rwothomio said in an interview.
Apparently, Paidha United is struck with injuries of players and one key defender Oyeny, who ended his three match ban today upon being sent off in their away match against Parombo mission stars in Parombu town last week.
Mean while , Noah Aziz, the technical director of Pakwach Young stars praised his side for securing crucial away point, highlighting the club’s weakness upon losing two formidable players to other clubs last season.
On improving the teams performance, Aziz said ” we are doing all what we can to improve the our performance going forward”
The match day nine clash between Paidha united and Pakwach Young stars was the third last Nyagak Zone regional league fixture for this season.
Paidha united Christened as ” the Comrades ” will play Alpha rising stars away from home and Arua Airfield at their backyard at Kings Stadium Cana in January next year, crowning their first league of the regional league campaign
Meanwhile in another shocker, Parombo mission stars stunned Nyagak Zone regional league table leaders Nebbi Central FC 1-0 , at Luo grounds in Nebbi Municipality on Saturday 21.
