MP Matovu in panic as DP to front activist Anselm Ssebuguzi for his Busiro South seat.
The Democratic Party (DP) has declared interest in the Busiro South MP seat, fronting Activist Anselm Ssebuguzi to oust NUP’s Charles Matovu in 2026.
Residents of Busiro South are complaining about their legislator, whom they blame for failing to deliver to their expectations. And sources say that Mr Ssebuguzi is likely to win the seat in 2026.
Mr Matovu is among the list of the most silent opposition MPs in the 11th Parliament, which has attracted several politicians mainly from the opposition side to replace him.
Mr Ssebuguzi is a software engineer and lawyer who has worked in various countries in South East Asia and Europe.
He is a DP member and a member of Kajjansi United Football Club which had promised to boost talent in Busiro South.
Ssebuguzi promises to work with the youth for development in Busiro South. “I will promote education, sports, and job creation for the youth,” he says.
He has a considerable interest in promoting social justice and environmental health.
He promises to continue fighting land grabbing and injustice against Lake Victoria fishermen.
