Uganda Cranes led by FUFA’s Moses Magogo has appointed Belgian National Paul Put as Football Head Coach for Uganda Cranes.

The announcement comes after Uganda Cranes has been searching for a football head coach after the sacking Milutin Sredojević.

It has been announced by the FUFA Media team that Paul Put is the new head coach of Uganda Cranes.

The controversial football manager was banned for three years after it was found he was involved in match-fixing in Europe.

While Manager of the Lierse football team in Belgium, he was found guilty of fixing two matches and was banned for three years,

His appotment has caused immediate reactions from football critics in the country.

He reacted at the time of being banned for three years that he was just a scapegoat and that the practice was widespread. “Match-fixing has always existed in football,” Put said.

His appointment comes at a time when Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya have officially been confirmed as the hosts of the 2027 TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations.
