Nsamizi Training Institute of Social Development first-year student knocked to death one week after reporting back for the new semester.
Atwebembere Felix (24) has been a first year student at Nsamizi Training Institute of Social Development in Mpigi where he has been pursuing a Diploma in Public Administration and Management.
He reported back for a new semester from his parents’ home in Mitooma District, on Saturday last week.
On his fateful day, he first had his ‘Public Finance course-unit’ lecture with his fellows in the morning before breathing his last in a fatal accident at around 2:30PM.
How it happened?
Students at Nsamizi Training Institute of Social Development in Mpigi District go to Mpigi Central Market which lies about 1 kilometre from the campus to buy foodstuffs, scholastic materials and other life essentials.
In a rainy weather, Felix left his “Hillside Hostel” residing colleagues and walked to the market for some scholastic materials. On his way back, a Mitsubishi Canter track number UBA 971K loaded with matooke from Butambala whose driver went on a run after causing an accident, lost control and knocked him while standing in the Mpigi-Butambala-Nsamizi-Muduuma round-about. By the time a police patrol reached the scene, Felix had breath his last.
Some of the students who were interviewed by our reporter described Felix as a down-to-earth person who was approachable in every situation. “He has been a strong football player and always stood in the ‘attacking midfield’ position for the Institute’s football team. He’s been free to everyone, and seemed to be the most loved fellow because of his good ways of living”
By the time of this publication, his body was run to Mulago Hospital for postmortem while waiting for his parents from Mitooma to plan burial arrangements.
Here at Whisper Eye News, we pray that Felix’s Soul be granted Eternal rest.
