A notorious hippopotamus has killed one person and injured one at the Jakok Landing site in Jakok village, Kivuje Parish Panyimur Subcounty Pakwach District.#WhisperEyeNews
The deceased has been identified as Felix Oryek aged 34, a resident of the same village. His colleague with whom he went fishing only identified as Emmanuel survived the attack.
The LC3 chairperson of Panyimur Subcounty Justus Omirambe explained that ” the incident happened at around 1.00 am at Jakok Landing site. He died right on the spot whilst his colleague survived”.
Last week, two people survived an attack by a notorious hippopotamus at Kivuje Parish Panyimur Sub_county after it hit their fishing boat.
This brings to 14 the total number of people killed by stray animals on Lake Albert in Panyimur Subcounty since 2021 according to The leadership of Panyimur Subcounty leaving alone those who survived with serious injuries.
Most of the deaths are caused by the sea horse.
Recently, two died in Wadelai Sub-county after their fishing boat was hit by a notorious hippopotamus.
