Husdon Cikawun, the county chief of Zeu in Zombo District have come under fire after he reportedly diverted all the acquired sub-county plastic chairs for use in his private drinking joint. #WhisperEyeNews
The concerns were raised by local leaders during a community Baraza organised at Zeu Sub-county headquarters on 30 August.
Some of the community members claimed they spotted some plastic chairs belonging to the Sub_County at a drinking joint in the Zeu Lorr trading centre.
The LC 2 chairperson of Lorr parish Sisto mulongo, accused the subcounty chief of using the sub-county properties for his own gains.
He also appealed for the district intervention.
” We know very well that the Sun_County is using our plastic chairs in his own bar. It is a serious issue and we need the district to intervene because it’s totally unlawful”. Mulongo said.
Leaders say there was no record indicating that the plastic chairs were higher.
Roy Masendi, The district Councillor of Zeu Sub-county said the chairs were not acquired for highering but only for sub-county activities.
” We went to the store and got no plastic chairs. We acquired the plastic chairs not to be in someone’s drinking joint. It was to aid the activities of the sub-county. We don’t know how the chairs disappeared here at the store.”Masendi explained
The 30 plastic chairs were acquired years ago according to the local leaders.
When contacted, the county chief Hudson Cikawun denied the allegations.
” You can come and verify yourself. They are the very people who borrow these chairs and later start complaining” He stressed.
The community baraza was organised for accountability and to weigh the performance of the public servants.
