Work for the interest of Alur people, Alur King to new duty bearers

The king of Alur Kingdom Ubimu Phillip Ularker Rauni III, has urged the kingdom’s newly sworn-in duty bearers “to work for unity, inclusion of all subjects and development of the kingdom” #UgandaNews #WhisperEyeNews

The king was speaking at the Kingdom Palace at Kal Atyak during the swearing ceremony of some duty bearers he appointed recently.

He also urged the newly sworn-in members to address ” the issue of land conflict” in the Kingdom that its rife cases lately have led to the loss of lives and Properties.

The newly sworn-in cabinet ministers, directors, and advisors are to steer the Kingdom full speed ahead for the next ten years.

The executive director of Alur Kingdom also the deputy prime minister Orach Vincent Ocaya said ” Now we are going into the next ten years of a strategic plan which is based on six thematic areas of Education, health, governance issue, environment, agriculture and capacity building and I think these pillars are good enough for us”. Orach told the Whisper Eye News.

In the past three years, over 10,000 cases of teenage pregnancies and child marriage were reported in the kingdom and the Kingdom has been riding on the theme of  ” end teenage pregnancies and child marriage” for years in most of its activities in the fight against the vice. 

 Colins Pimer, The Kingdom’s newly sworn Gender minister said “Child marriage, teenage pregnancy and gender-based violence will be her first area of focus”.

Pimer also added, “We shall address the issue of women’s land ownership in our kingdom “. Her work will be to change the Alur cultural norms and Practices where women are prohibited from owning land.

Sam Kumakech, one of the youngest duty bearers who takes over from the docket of sports, information and youth affairs believes this new team will steady the ship full speed ahead.

The newly sworn-in cabinet ministers, directors, and advisors in their various capacities gave the king assurance of steering the kingdom activities for the next ten years.

 The state minister of northern Uganda Grace Freedom Kwiocwiny has urged them ” to work hand in hand with the government for the success of most government programmes” citing the example of Parish Development Model Programmes.

Alur Kingdom which has 64 chiefdoms in Uganda and DR Congo, boast a population of about 8 million subjects here and in the diaspora.
