The  Zombo suspected lesbian left many unanswered questions

Today marks three months since Locals at Karombe Trading Center, Abira West Ward Zombo Town Council in Zombo District arrested and later paraded To Authorities a young lady who called herself ” Be God Future Ayaa”, whom they accused of having sexual intercourse with three primary school girls from a school in Zombo Town Council.

Local leaders say, no one knew whether she was a female given her tom_boysh lifestyle and dressing codes.

She would put on men’s attires all day and night long locals say.

However, pressure then started mounting on local leaders as the community started raising concerns about her behaviour.

” When she speaks, you might think a man is the one talking, we got one day and went to her place of residence to understand her status, at first she denied claiming she is a man,” The LC 1 chairperson of Uduk Village Abira West Ward Ismail Mustafa said.

Mustafa added that ” we took a keen interest in her because she became a topic of discussion amongst members of the Public most of whom were expressing doubt about  her status”

After an extensive investigation, she later revealed to local leaders that she was female.

Margaret Amony,  the Town agent Of Abira West Ward Zombo Town Council was among the local leaders that cross_ examined her.

The Zombo suspected Lesbian called ” Be God Future Ayaa”, Which left many questions unanswered.

”  We went together with the Chairperson LC 1 to ascertain facts about the lady, I ask her about her Status and she said she was a male. I said if you’re indeed a man, let the LC 1 chairperson who is a male go and examine you from inside, she accepted at first but upon reaching inside, she declined saying she wants to be examined by a female Fellow who was me. From there, she confessed to me that she was indeed female”  Amony explained.

Upon continuous interrogation, Aya revealed to local leaders that she had sexual intercourse with three primary school girls at a school in Zombo Town Council.

The Three School girls Whose names were withheld, later revealed that indeed she had sexual intercourse with them severally.

“We tried to identify those girls she claimed she had sexual intercourse with, what left us shocked was that the school girls confessed that they knew Aya as a Man with male reproductive organs” Amony, The Town Agent of Abira West Ward In Zombo Town Council added.

The LC 1 chairperson of Uduk cell Ismael Mustafa said after ” ransacking her house due to concern from members of the public,   in her presence, we discovered used condoms with ripe bananas, we Suspect she was using it on girls she was luring into sexual intercourse”.

Mustafa further revealed that ” The lady would clash with men over girls at night discos in Zombo Town, we were even shocked to realize that she was not a male person”.

These allegations were enough to pin “Be God Future Ayaa”.

She was  Paraded to Zombo Police Post and later referred to Paidha Central Police For Serious investigation.

At Paidha Central Police Station, she first told interrogators that she was 16 years old, but after two days, she changed her age to 18.

Aya also revealed that she was a resident of Koch Sub_County in Nebbi District. The mother is an Acholi by tribe and the Father is an Alur.

How Aya forged  her way to Zombo

Sources say Aya first came to Karombu Trading Center in Abira West Ward,  Zombo Town Council as a “Casino Operator”.  It’s from there that she would woo girls into sexual intercourse using the little money she had local leaders revealed.

She stayed in the area for more than two months little did people know that Aya was female. She rarely put off her heavy-hooded Maroon Sweater.

She always had her hair cut short and ever-clad in trousers.

Charges.

“Be God Future Ayaa” set tongues wagging across the greater Nebbi community that used to hear about the story of LGBTQ+ and many would doubt that the practice can become a close-to-home incident.

Upon extensive interrogation, Ayaa reportedly accepted that she indeed ” performed the act of sexual intercourse with the three primary school girls”, a police officer at Paidha Central police station said in March.

The District CID Maureen Kitimbo then said she was to be charged with the unnatural offence.

She was later remanded to Paidha Central police station on charges of unnatural offence for what remains to be an unknown period of time.

As it stands now, there is thinly sliced information about ” Be God Future Ayaa”,   a lady whose name became a song in dance because of her peculiar act in the Alur Kingdom.

What the law says.

Ayaa’s story broke out at a time when President Yoweri Museveni had sent back to  Parliament the Anti-Homosexuality Act, of 2023.

The law was initially passed by Parliament on 22 March 2023, having been introduced as Private Members Bill by Bugiri Municipality Member of Parliament, Hon. Asuman Basalirwa.

The Bill which received unanimous legislative support, was returned to Parliament by President Museveni on 27 April 2023 with proposals before he would sign it into law.

The House reconsidered the Bill on 02 May 2023 and passed it with amendments to five clauses in regard to proposals by President Museveni.

What Alur Kingdom Said.

When the news about Ayaa’s action in Alur Kingdom Sprung out like wildfire, The Prime minister of Alur Kingdom Opar Lawrence Angala strongly condemned the act.

Angala also warned all those with ill motives for championing the homosexuality act to desist from coming to the  Kingdom with immediate effect.

Religious perspective.

Ayaa’s action elicited a torrent of condemnation from all religious leaders in greater Nebbi.

Notwithstanding the  Church of England’s support towards LGBT+ rights,
The Archbishop of the Province of the Church of Uganda who has been voicing scathing criticisms against the LGBTQ+, recently on his pastoral visit to Nebbi Diocese rallied believers to be extra vigilant about the acts of homosexuality that are currently spiraling upward.

He called upon the government to ensure learners are protected against acts of same-sex marriage that he said are getting their way into the community through schools. He added that the practice is being promoted by some agents planted in schools.

Straw on the camel horse

President Yoweri Museveni in May this year approved the Anti_ Homosexuality Bill  2023 into an act.

The law has been labelled by the international community as one of the most repressive in the world. It attracted a series of condemnations from right groups and the West.

The ” Anti-Homosexuality Act 2023″, has heavy penalties for people who have homosexual relations and springboard the act.

An offence of aggravated homosexuality is punishable by death amongst other penalties.

According to local leaders, The story of “Be God Future Ayaa “, a lady who did the unthinkable in the Zombo district should not be seen with a grain of salt because she might have other friends who are being supported to champion the act.
