Celebrations as Princess Ssangalyambogo Graduates At Nottingham University

Princess Princess Katrina Sarah Nachwa Nabaloga Ssangalyambogo and her fellow graduates have been called upon by the President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Nottingham, Prof. Shearer West CBE, to embrace the world with an open heart and mind following her graduation with a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Management from Nottingham University Business School in the UK.

The award ceremony occurred on Monday, 24th July 2023, at David Ross Sports Village, University of Nottingham Park in the UK.

Her mother, The Nnaabagereka of Buganda HRH Sylvia Nagginda, further advised that “the true measure of success is our ability to uplift others, to bring hope and to be a source of inspiration”, appealing to Ssangalyambogo to use her acquired qualification to have a positive impact on the lives of others. “Obuntubulamu is our way of life”, she added.

This was at the graduation pre-dinner cocktail held at Corinthia, The courtroom Whitehall in London, to celebrate Ssangalyambogo’s academic achievement. The occasion was graced by relatives and friends who impacted her life since childhood.

A special present from HER father HM Ssaabasajja, The Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II, was delivered by Ssangalyambogo’s elder sister Nalinya (Princess) Victoria Nkinzi.

On Monday, 24th July 2023, the graduation event was attended by a delegation led by The Nnaabagereka, Prince Crispin JJunju Kiweewa, Princesses Victoria Nkinzi, Jade Nakato, and Jasmine Babirye. Others were, Catherine Doreen Bwete, Nakuya Juliet, and The Venerable Dr. Prince Daniel Kajumba, Kabaka’s representative in the UK and Ireland Oweek. Ssalongo Geoffrey Kibuuka and his deputy, The Rev. Enock Kiyaga Mayanja, Omukungu GW Kalanzi, Omutaka Nkalubo Richard (Musu), and protocol officer Edgar Kavuma. also, present was Dana Ingabire of photograpsbydana.

Head of Corporate events organised the VIP reception for the Nnaabagereka and her delegation and other hosts representing the University of Nottingham were represented by PROF. Dr Sarah Turner and Prof Dr Natalie Moore from Nottingham University Business School.

Nottingham University also organised a private royal reception at the Brailsford Suite of Orchard Hotel for Nnabagereka and her delegation.

Nnaabagereka, who said she was filled with pride, joy, and a sense of accomplishment for Ssangalyambogo’s academic success, thanked God for grace and mercy, which enabled the Princess to overcome all the obstacles and challenges that could have come her way. Nnaabagereka also thanked the people who had been in Ssangalyambogo’s life since she started School, namely her auntie Mrs Cate Bwete, Mr Solomon and Mrs Grace Kabuye in Nairobi, aunties Sarah Kiyingi, Barbara Mulwana-Kulubya, Maria Kiwanuka and many others loving and caring about Ssanga as their own. Ssanga’s Ssenga Nalinya Elizabeth Nakabiri, Sylvia Kibaya, Ven. Dan Kajumba and his lead man Edgar Kavuma, Omukungu Rev. Enock Kiyaga and others.

She thanked Ssangalyambogo for being humble and respectful to all. Ssangalyambogo started School at Kampala Junior Academy, Kabira International School of Uganda, which is now called Kampala International School, from where she moved to Peponi School in Nairobi to attend her high school and, after that, Nottingham University for the last four years.

When Ssangalyambogo moved to the UK, it was her independence but anxiety for her parents.

Ssangalyambogo was born in 2001 in the United Kingdom to the Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II and THE Nnabagereka of Buganda Sylvia Nagginda.

Katrina- Sarah is an excellent swimmer, winning numerous medals, including national and regional championships.

The Princess is a soccer lover and Supports English Club Manchester United. In 2017 during a tour of the Club’s home ground at Manchester United, Ssangalyambogo was officially registered as a Member of the Club.

Ssangalyambogo is also famous for her down-to-earth personality and for embracing social media, from which she is dubbed as TikTokprincess with over 155,000 followers.
