A highly charged mob from DRC attacked a village in Nebbi district in retaliation following the death of their daughter who got married in the area. #WhisperEyeNews
The village of Agweci Upper in Pacaka Parish Erusi sub-county came under attack immediately after news broke out about the sudden death of a Congolese national Only identified as Munguromu, who died shortly after she was admitted at Jupanziri health centre 3.
Before Officers from the Erusi Police post were contacted, three houses were already set alight by the irate Congolese Mob who came from the Panzudu clan.
They accused their Ugandan in-laws of reportedly killing their daughter by force.
The LC 1 chairperson of Agweci upper village Pacaka Parish Stephen Odongo said they involved police immediately upon witnessing the violent scenes.
He added that three suspects were apprehended and paraded to Erusi Police Post and later transferred to Nebbi Central Police Station to aid in the investigation
” That woman died after she felt sick. She died shortly after she was rushed to Jupanziri Health Center III. Those people came and started burning houses. Few of them were calm whilst others were rowdy. We involved police immediately and three were arrested” Odongo said.
The identities of the suspects were not yet revealed by press time.
When contacted about the cross-border incident, the RDC of Nebbi Robert Abak promised to get back to Whisper Eye publication later.

Identified the deceased as Munguromu, who died of pregnancy. She is survived by a child.
The body of the deceased was handed over to the family members from DRC for burial.
Recently, Some Congolese also set two houses alight at Acu village in Abanga sub county Zombo district in retaliation, following the death of one of their relatives who was then residing in Uganda.
