Leader of Opposition Mathias Mpuuga applauds Kimanya – Kabonera MP Dr. Abed Bwanika, NUP MPs for magnificent performance in the first Parliament year

The Leader of Opposition (LoP) who doubles as Nyendo – Mukungwe MP Mathias Mpuuga Nsamba has applauded legislators of the National Unity Platform (NUP) for an excellent job in Uganda’s 11th Parliament in the first year of their term. #UgandaNews #UgandaLatestNews #WhisperEyeNews

Hon Mpuuga told Whisper Eye News that they launched the Legislative Agenda to help the government by presenting alternative policies which intend to improve the standards of living of Ugandans.

Among the notable achievements of the 11th Parliament was the move to terminate Uganda Vinci Coffee Company Ltd’s agreement with the Uganda government to monopolize Uganda’s coffee, a matter which was raised by Kimanya – Kabonera legislator Dr. Abed Bwanika who is also a member of National Unity Platform (NUP).

LoP said that they are working to improve the quality of opposition legislators to achieve more. He praised Dr. Abed Bwanika for raising the voices of the majority of Ugandans who grow coffee.

On 12th April 2022, Dr. Abed the shadow minister of Agriculture raised an issue on National importance in Parliment regarding the fraudulent agreement that Uganda through the minister of finance Matia Kasaija had entered with a private company called Uganda Vinci Coffee Ltd which sought to give the company monopoly powers over Uganda Coffee.

According to hon Mathias Mpuuga NUP and opposition MPs performed better in the first year, and they are looking forward to improvements to the best.

Other MPs who recorded extraordinary performance in the first year of this term include; Kalungu West MP Joseph Gonzaga Ssewungu (NUP), Kira municipality MP Ibrahim Nganda Ssemujju (FDC), Mawogola county South MP Gorret Namuga (NUP), Kyadondo East MP Muwada Nkunyinji (NUP), Buhwenju county MP Mwinukye Francis (FDC), Mawokota South MP Yusuf Nsibambi (NUP), Mityana South MP Lumu Richard Kizito (DP), Kampala Woman MP Shamim Malende (NUP), Mukono Municipality MP Nambooze Betty Bakireke (NUP), Busiro East MP Medard Ssegona (NUP), Butambala County MP Muhammad Muwanga Kivumbi (NUP), Nakaseke Central MP Mayanja Allan (NUP) among others.
