Actor Ashiraf Ssemwogerere an independent candidate in Rubaga division mayoral race has joined National Unity Platform (NUP) candidate Mberaze Zaccky Mawula camp.
Mr Ssemwogerere missed out on NUP ticket, and nominated as an independent candidate.
However today afternoon at 12:00PM and joined Mr Mberaze.
Ssemwogerere has requested to vote for Mr Mberaze as the new division mayor.
“We cannot miss out this chance as Rubaga division, Mr Mberaze is part of this great generation,” says Mr Ssemwogerere.
“Owek. Nabbosa Juliet Ssebugwawo has served enough, we need new blood,” he added.
NUP spokesperson Nakawa west MP elect Hon Joel Ssenyonyi has welcomed Mr Ssemwogerere in the party and appreciated his move as the only way to go at the moment.
“We welcome the decision of our brother Ssemwogerere to join Mr Mberaze, Rubaga is ours, NUP must win the mayoral race on Rubaga,” says Mr Ssenyonyi.
