NRM Primaries: Agriculturalist Agatha Nalubwama defeats Karangwa’s daughter Birugi Kobusingye in Kayunga amidst reports of massive rigging. Whisper Eye Reports
Celebrations are still going on in Kayunga district after a renown Land dealer and NRM chairperson for Kayunga district Moses Karangwa’s daughter was defeated in party primaries.
Ms Birungi Kobusingye Jackline a daughter to Mr Karangwa was crashed by a young agriculturalist Agatha Nalubwama for the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party flag as Woman MP for Kayunga district in the forth coming general elections 2021.
Nalubwama’s campaign agents told Whisper Eye news in an exclusive interview that Mr Karangwa and his agents were involved in rigging the election but finally succumbed the much painful defeat.
“We want change in our district, Mr Karangwa has divided our people and now we want new leaders. This is to why I have voted hon Nalubwama, she is youthful, developmental and above all very disciplined,” says Mulindwa John a resident of Kayunga town immediately after electing his candidate of choice.
Kayunga district has 13 sub counties, and from these sub counties Hon Birungi Kobusigye Jackyline got 33,632 votes.
Hon Nalubwama Agatha scored 38562 votes with a difference of 4930 votes
“I therefore declare Agatha Nalubwama a successful candidate NRM flag bearer of Kayunga Woman MP for 2021 general elections,” declares Kayunga district NRM EC registrar.
Ms Nalubwama is an agriculturalist and a businesswoman who is investing in adding value on agricultural produce in Kayunga district.
