Big Story: NRM Youth ask President Museveni to tell Kadaga to step down for youthful Persis Namuganza . Whisper Eye Reports

The National Resistance Movement party elections take another twist as two political heads all from Busoga region crash yet gain for the post of the second National Vice chairperson (Female) of the NRM Central Executive Committee.

Speaker Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga who was confirmed as a candidate for the post insists that she’s the right person for the post as  Minister of Lands Persis Namuganza  has also picked forms for the same seat.

In meeting held at Kati Kati in Kampala, NRM chairpersons from various districts meant Minister Kiwanda Ssubi , Deputy Speaker Oulanyah and Hon Chris Baryomunsi  who are also seeking NRM party positions .

In the same meeting it was communicated that Speaker Kadaga was to attend the same meeting as a special guest to also seek their support something they didn’t not agree with.

The youth leaders present in the meeting insisted that Rebbeeca  Kadaga has no time for NRM and she should not waste time speaking to them ,

The youth told Kiwanda Ssubi that speaker Kadaga should step down for Peris Namuganza a youthful leader who will champion the ideolog of NRM.

The youth whose names insist we should not reveal for best reasons known to them went ahead to assure Speaker Kadaga that next week they will petition president Museveni the NRM chairman to consider their cry and let Kadaga step down from NRM party activities.

Recently Minister Namuganza said that majority of NRM supporters are women and youths, but when you look at many of them at the moment, they are distressed and living poorly.

Kadaga who was expected to be a guest at the meeting was a no show after the youthful leader insisted, she should not waste time coming.

Namuganza also the MP Bukono County faces Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga who is the incumbent second National Chairperson NRM representing women.

Namuganza said as she contests, she is not scared of anyone and is hopeful that the NRM women and youth will vote for her. She says even though she has not spoken out in public and paraded her supporters, she is working hard to lead the women in NRM in that line.

While speaking to journalists upon her nomination few days ago, Kadaga said, she is confident that the NRM members who trust her leadership will again vote for her. “I want to assure NRM members across the country that I have been formally nominated; I want to tell them that I’m ready to serve you and I’m looking forward to your support as usual,” said Kadaga.

The elections for the NRM party positions will happen on August 3rd.
