2021 Race: Over 20 top campaign agents of MP Allan Ssewanyana defect to Hajji Faruq Ntege’s camp. Whisper Eye Reports

Over 20 campaign agents of Makindye West legislator Allan Ssewanyana have joined his opponent Haji Farooq Ntege.

A team led by a renown political activist in Makindye division Mubiru Musa who is the Deputy Organising Secretary for the Democratic Party (DP) in Kibuye II parish officially declared campaigning agents of Haji Ntege Faruq

Among the team was the Kibuye II parish councillor to Makindye Division Konde Abdul, and Ntabaazi Fred who promised to hunt for votes in the area.

Residents in Makindye West, blame hon Allan Ssewanyana for not coming back in the constituency and fueling political wars with in Makindye division leaders.

“I supported hon Ssewanyana, but he has failed to meet his promises. He promised to come back and for our views, but ever since 2017 during the amendment of age limit clause102 (b) in the constitution he has never come back,’ says Ms Namatovu Cissy a resident of Luwafu village.

However Uganda Young Democrats (UYD) secretary general Wasswa Charles told Whisper Eye News that Hon Allan Ssewanyana has served the Democratic Party than many DP MPs.

‘These are people who have fought Hon Ssewanyana since 2010, he has always won them, and he is going to wine again,’ says Wasswa.

” They only need money from Mr Faruq, who has it, but they are not interested in the long struggle of defeating president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. MP Ssewanyana has performed to our expectations, he explained. “

Whisper Eye reached out to MP Ssewayana reaction however the MP didnt pick our calls.

Hajji Farooq declared two weeks ago to contest for the parliamentary seat for Makindye West.

Hajji Faruq is a Democratic Party (DP) member who was so influential in 1998- 1999 as a youth in the recruiting of young people to support the late John Ssebaana Kizito thus voted Kampala Capital City Mayor.

Haji Ntege Farooq went to Bukoto Primary School and later Kisaasi Primary school.

He joined Kawempe Muslim secondary school for his ‘O’ level and Bilali Islamic Institute, formerly located at Kissekka Market, Kampala Central, and was relocated to Kakiri in Wakiso.

He joined Makerere University in 1995, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 1998.

He was so influential in University politics as a member of Uganda Young Democrats (UYD).

Haji Ntege Farooq is an established businessman in Kampala.

He is managing director of Rummage Exports company registered in United States of America and Uganda.

He is also the director of Ntegeson Builders Concept dealing in real estates. And Fase Industries dealing in plumbing materials based in Ggaba.

Haji Ntege is also a managing director of Harrambe International an NGO based in US, an organisation provide relief to needy people.

He is currently a board member of Kampala District Land Board working with suave City Lawyer Professor Yusuf Nsibambi who is also consulting people in Mawokota South Constituency, in Mpigi district.
