Kasana Boda boda rides question Luweero Woman MP Eng Lillian Nakate Ssegujja why she supported amending the age limit clause in the constitution.
Kasana Boda Boda riders in Luwero Town council have questioned their woman MP for supporting the amendment of Article 102(b) that removed the age limit clause in the constitution of Uganda.
The amendment of this Article gave green lights to president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to rule for life, residents told MP Nakate .
Eng Nakate was elected to the 10th Parliament in 2016 defeating Democratic Party (DP) flag bearer, who was the incumbent in a highly contested vote.
Whisper Eye has been reliably informed that, Nakate was travelling to Wobulenzi from Luwero, and the angry Boda boda riders intercepted her and asked why she supported the amendment of the constitution, to remove the age limit clause.
They complained about the ongoing lock down on boda bodas arguing that they have nothing to eat, as well as look after their families.
MP Nakate tried to calm them, however her efforts were futile as they continued telling her they want Hon Kyagulanyi Robert Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine and People Power, Our Power greater Luweero coordinator Nabukenya Brenda.
The MP however assured the boda boda riders that she will contest for 2021 elections.
Many boda boda riders across the country are greatly affected by the Covid-19 lock down on boda bodas.
On Saturday, June 27, police in Kampala arrested hundreds and hundreds of boda bodas and riders.
