A Chinese plywood factory, Sino Plywood Ltd has burnt into ashes destroying property worthy millions and millions of money.

The factory is located at Jjeza, Muduuma Sub County in Mpigi district along Mityana road.

According to an Eye witness, that at first they thought that there are workers who were burning waste.

However, after few minutes he had people shouting “fire, fire….” immediately rushed to the factory.

“Fire started at a round 8:30PM Monday night, inside the factory,’ he said.

It burnt woods inside the factory and all materials used by workers.

Police fire extinguishers arrived at the scene and managed to put out the fire.

However all property inside the factory had burnt into ashes.

Katonga Region police spokesperson Lydia Tumushabe told Whisper Eye News that they are investigating the cause of the fire.

Ms Tumushabe asked factory owners to have fire extinguishers to prepare for such situations, to reduce losses.
