Covid-19: Uganda cases stand at 696 as 11 test positive

Ministry of Health on Thursday announced 11 new COVID-19 cases, bringing its total number of confirmed cases to 696. Whisper Eye Reports

Whisper Eye has learnt that 6 new cases are Truck drivers who arrived via Elegu and via Mutukula, 1 new case is a frontline health worker as 4 cases are contacts and alerts from Buikwe , Lira , Adjumani and Amuru .

The country health ministry, in its daily update this morning of sunday confirmed these new rising covid-19 cases.

All contact positive cases are under Quarantine, the ministry confirmed.

Uganda now has 696 covid-19 cases since march.

Uganda also handed over 33 positive foreign truck drivers to their respective countries .

Uganda has now registered 240 recoveries according to the ministry of health with no reports of death.

Malaba, Busia and Mutukula border points turn out to be the most risky areas as far as Covid-19 is concerned.
