A Land cruiser no UAZ 419 T belonging to Lt General Proscovia Nalweyiso has knocked down dead a UPDF soldier attached to Mpoma satellite earth station. Whisper Eye Reports.
A Toyota Land Cruiser Vehicle driven by an armed person was cruising at a high speed from Kayunga side towards Mukono when it knocked dead a UPDF solider.
The UPDF soldier was apparently within the road lying dead.
The Land Cruiser didn’t stop immediately but turned round after about 400m and drove back to the scene to report. Whisper Eye corespondent was on scene.
The enraged UPDF soldiers from Mpoma Earth Station cocked their guns (AK47) to shoot at the errant driver .
It so happens that the driver of the vehicle believed to be a UPDF soldier ,also drew his weapon and there was exchange of hot words before things calmed down.
The intervention of Lt Col Ssegujja of Military Intellegence based in Mukono and the OC traffic police calmed the situation amidst high tension among dozens soldiers of the knocked dead solider/
Efforts to get a word from the The UPDF spokesperson was futile despite all efforts.
Whisper Eye was unable to establish the names of the deceased as curfew time had clocked
