There has been a truck driver who tested positive of COVID-19 picked from Mukono town by ministry of health officials and he was found already interacting with other people in community of this town.

James Kato has been found already mixed within the population of Mukono town after he delivered goods to Glam Builders Hardware but at the time of interception he has been with only two of his friends’ one known as Charles Obonyo.

The Ministry of health ambulance picked Kato first and later they came for the other two, this was due to lack of ambulances since most of them were taken to the border posts to be alert for other covid19 positive cases and two were first kept at the Mukono municipal gardens.

According to MUkono Municipality Mayor who is also a member of district COVID-19 task force George Fred Kagimu, this man has been found in Mukono industrial area where he had delivered hardware materials.

Kagimu further requested people to keep adhering to ministry health guidelines which include putting on masks, social distancing and others and requested those tested to isolate and help not to spread this deadly virus in Mukono.

Mukono Municipality health officer Dr. Anthony Kkonde has confirmed this case of COVID person and he informed The Scribe News that Kato was tested in Mutukula and currently they have embarked on searching for his contacts.

Kkonde has further informed that currently they have enough health practitioners to do this job and they have so far taken 12 sample and they are currently waiting for the results

This is the second covid19 positive truck driver to be intercepted in Mukono, the first one was on the run from Kampala to Uganda – Kenya boarder.
