Former security minister, bush war veteran General Henry Tumukunde Kakurugu is set to hold rallies in three different towns today in Western Uganda.
Henry Tumukunde according to his program today will be in Rubanda, Rukiga and Kabala.
Yesterday Mr Tumukunde’s rallies were interrupted by security organs and police.
Uganda police used teargas and firing bullets to disperse his supporters that had gathered in big numbers to welcome him home.
Police cite Electoral Commission (EC) guidelines of Covid-19 SOPs as recommended by ministry of health.
The ministry of health has recommended only political gatherings of not more than 200 people.
Henry Tumukunde is a politician and retired senior military officer of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF)
He was the Minister of National Security in the Cabinet of Uganda, appointed to that position on 6 June 2016. On 4 March 2018, he was relieved of his duties in an unexpected cabinet reshuffle.
