By Mike Rwothomio
Authorities at Terego Central Police Station have apprehended three suspects in connection with the murder of Peter Amandi, 52, from Liria Village, Abindi Parish.
The suspects, identified as Wadribo Joel, 24, Ajudribo Michael, 17, and Abasiku Jerimaya, 19, all residents of Anikuru Village, are being held for murder through assault (Case Ref: TGO/CRB: 129/25).
According to West Nile regional Police Spokesperson SP Collins Asea, the incident stems from a dispute on April 19, 2025, when Amandi allegedly set fire to a grass-thatched house belonging to Orodriyo, according to a report filed by Ndema Tepolo, 61.
Relatives of Orodriyo reportedly confronted Amandi, leading to a violent assault. On April 21, Amandi was found severely beaten in a valley in Liria Village and was rushed to Arua Regional Referral Hospital, where he died on April 27.
A postmortem has been completed, and the suspects remain in custody as investigations continue.
