The Red Top Brigade Movemnet members Mutaasa Kafeero Charles and Ssenjakko Dafara jump into Parliament plenary hall and demonstrated against rampant corruption in the country.

They were arrested and taken to Luzira prison.

Mr Kafeero has told court that they were brutally tortured.

‘Security operatives in casual clothes and Police at Parliament took us at Parliament armoury, tourted us beyond death’, says Mr Kafeero in Court.

“Since the torture we have never received medication, even in Luzira prison were we went, we never received medication up-to now.” He explained to the magistrate.

Citing the Prevention of torture Act together with the Human Rights Enforcement Act, Counsel for the accused (Mutaasa Kafeero and Ssenjakko Dafala) Mpenje Nathan of Lukwago & Co. Advocates has asked the trial Magistrate at City Hall Court to acquit both the accused of charges.

The case was first adjourned to 2:30pm for the ruling.

Afterwards the magistrate granted a cash bail of 1m each, but later the trial magistrate put a stringent condition of adusing their Nation IDs yet, they were retained at Parliament.

The two were remanded up-to 12th March 2021.

Kafeero cleared by the Electoral Commission to go ahead with his planned consultation meetings for his 2021 presidency bid.
