People Power Movement donates relief items to the people of Kasese district hit by floods in in May, 2020.
Former Leader of Opposition, Kasese woman MP Winnie Kiiza has received the relief items on behalf of the people of Kasese today at People Power headquarters at Kamwokya, Kampala
‘I have today morning received relief items from the women in People Power Movement, under the leadership of Ms. Kalule Flavia Nabagabe, and Dr. Zedriga,’ says MP Kiiza.
“The items include mama kits, sanitary towels, underwears, clothes & household items, and are all directed towards restoring hope of our people that were displaced by the Kasese floods, she explained.”
In May, 2020, Kasese district was hit by floods due to torrential rainfall that led major rivers; Nyamwamba, Mubuku, Nyamughasana, and Lhubiriha to burst their banks.
The flooding Lhubiriha river, last month left at least eight people dead.
