Hon Veronica Nanyondo the woman Member of Parliament for Bukomansimbi has come out to express her anger after she was recently denied a chance to speak at the burial of the District Kadhi of Bukomansimbi Sheikh Hamidu Kawooya.

Sheikh Kawooya who died on December 11th after battling a short illness was buried in Bukomansimbi. During the burial, Hon Nanyondo was among the people who went to pay their last visit to Sheikh Kawooya but was denied a chance to speak at the burial.

According to our close sources, the district executive committee represented by Kasim Kizito who was in charge of Political affairs announced that no Politician was allowed to speak at the burial ceremony.

“Earlier before, politicians like Hon Iddi Lubyayi Kisiki, Hon Ruth Katusabe, Hon Deogratius Kiyingi were given a chance to speak” our source said. He went to say that this prompted Hon Nanyondo to also ask for a chance to speak but was denied by mainly the Muslim fraternity of Bukomansimbi.

Claims for not letting her speak according to our source is that she has not helped the people of Bukomansimbi in the last 5 years she has served as Member of Parliament and that she didn’t have a right to speak at the burial.

At the burial that was said not to be Political, the regional Khadi was overheard hailing Hon Minister of state for youth and children’s affairs for fighting for the rights of children and women.
