Covid-19: Uganda’s cases shoot to 227 as 24 Truck Drivers test positive

Twenty four more people have been reported to have tested positive for Covid-19. Whisper Eye Reports.

24 Truck Drivers takes Uganda’s total number of confirmed cases to 227, since the first case was reported in March. Sad!

The country Health ministry, in its daily update on Saturday confirmed the numbers.

The new cases include: Ugandans, Kenyans and Tanzanians who arrived via Mutukula, Busia and Elegu borders.

Covid-19 rise to 227 as all 554 community samples have tested negative for COVID-19 , in total samples of those tested was 2044.

Uganda has now had 63 recoveries according to the ministry of heath.

Malaba, Busia and Mutukula border points turns out to be the most risky areas as far as Covid-19 is concerned.

According to authorities tracking them has commenced and the public will be informed accordingly tomorrow. 

This comes as Kenya extended it’s lockdown for more 21 days as it also closed Somalia and Tanzania borders over the dangerous pandemic.
