Cause of Nile Star Bus fire unknown – Police

SP Ongom David Mudong, The Public relations Officer of Aswa West has said in a statement that the cause of the fire that burnt a bus belonging to Nile Star Bus Company remains unclear.

” The Nwoya Territorial Traffic Police have commenced an investigation into the incident to determine the probable cause” Ongom briefly said in a statement.

 He added that ” the bus with  Reg. No UBF 003Y, caught fire this morning, February 14, 2024, at Latoro along the Pakwach-Karuma highway in Nwoya District while en route to Kampala” 

All passengers were safely evacuated before the bus was completely burnt.

Many passengers’ properties worth millions of shillings were destroyed police said.
