The motion of impeachment has been moved by the Senate majority whip Hon. Irunga Kangata and seconded by the Senate minority deputy whip Hon. Mutula Kilonzo Junior today friday the 22nd day of May 2020.

In his communication to the Senate house , the Senate majority whip Hon. Irungu Kangata has started that the overriding reason for the impeachment of the deputy speaker Kithure Kindiki was that his Party Jubilee which nominated him and enjoys the majority in the house had lost confidence in him.

54 Senators voted for his impeachment, 7 voted for his stay and non absconded.

It should be noted that professor Kithure Kindiki was among the Senators who snubbed the Jubilee Senator’s meeting which was chaired by the party chairman H.E, Uhuru Kenyatta at State house.
