“Assasins are after me, want me dead.” Speaker Anita Among

The Speaker of Parliament of Uganda Hon Anita Annet Among shocked the nation after she relieved that her life is in danger as her car is being trailed by assailants who want to take away her life. #WhisperEyeNews

The Speaker who is currently in a cold war with the executive over separation of powers said that no body with threaten her and whoever wants to kill her should do so.

“I have got a report and I have only shared this with the Leader of Opposition Hon Mathias Mpuuga Nsamba and now I can officially tell you that I have got an assassination report where some people want to assassinate me,” the Bukedea District Woman MP said, adding, “…up to now, my car is still followed .”

“Whoever wants to assassinate Anita, let me inform you that I was put in this chair by God and I will serve until I get tired,” vowed Ms Among who has been the Speaker of the 11th Parliament since March 25, 2022 when she was elected following the death of Jacob Oulanyah.

It is not yet clear who exactly wants Anita dead and why but she directed the Prime Minister to investigate the matter and report back to Parliament as soon as possible.
