NUP MP Robert Ssekitoleeko survives being beaten by angry mourners at a Vigil in Zirobwe after insulting them

The Bamunanika County MP Hon Robert Ssekitoleko has survived to be beaten by angry mourners accusing him of always insulting and abusing those who do not agree with him. The incident happened in Zirobwe during the vigil of the late Deo Nsereko the former LC Chairperson of Luweero who once also served as an RDC.

At the vigil on Saturday morning at around 1am, Hon Ssekitoleko was given an opportunity to speak to the mourners but started on a wrong note as he began by attacking the former area MP Hon Dr JC Muyingo whom he was acusing of doing nothing for the constituents. The vigil being for a man who belonged to the NRM, the mourners lost their cools ordering him to stop speaking nonsense as this wasn’t time for politics but mourning.

At that juncture, the widow of the late stormed out of the house and grabbed the microphone from Hon Ssekitoleko telling him to walk away. The widow was also joined by the children of the late who pushed Hon Ssekitoleko out of the tent accusing him of character assassinating his opponents to build his own name.

Hon Ssekitoleko tried to resist to leave the scene but the angry mourners forced him away ordering him not to even bother attending the burial ceremony.

We contacted Ssekitoleko for a comment but he never answered our calls.

The late Deo Nsereko will be buried today the 19th September near his home in Zirobwe.
