SPA Hon. Ruth Katushabe examines manifesto implemention in regards to Women involvement at Bukomansimbi women’s Day celebrations

The Senior Presidential advisor on Political Affairs and Translations Hon Ruth Katushabe was on 13th/June/2024 among the guests for the Bukomansimbi Women’s day celebrations that were held at Maleku play ground in Kibinge Subcounty County.

The celebrations were organized by the Bukomansimbi Women in recognition for the role of women in society and how best they can be emancipated to serve their communities and country better.

In her speech to the gathering, Hon Katushabe Ruth highlighted on a number of issues relating to the role of women in society, how government has stood up with the women to see that they get involved in the leadership of this country

As a prominent figure in the political landscape of Uganda , Hon. Ruth Katushabe consistently emphasized the importance of women’s emancipation, recognizing it as not only a matter of justice but also a catalyst for national advancement. She said that when women are empowered and actively involved in decision-making processes, societies prosper and thrive.

Hon Katushabe added that the government of Uganda led by HE GEN Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has done its role in trying to involve women in the decision making and leadership of this country through the affirmative action where women are being given special seats in all political administrative levels from parliament down wards hence the President deserves credit for this.

She has thus asked women not to simply sit home and wait for their husbands to provide everything for them but rather equally strive and work hard to bring something on the table. In this she has asked women to take advantage of the different poverty eradication programs like Emyooga, PDM to change their lives.

“When you’re poor, you will be despised by those husbands of yours. They will not see any value in you. Please work hard and have some money in your pockets.” She said

She further added that Women need to join hands regardless of their political, social, religional or tribal differences so as to fight for their rights and support each other to see that they become productive citizens in this country.
