NUP leaders in Mpigi back Kawuki Peter LC 5 bid to replace Ssejjemba Martin who declared to oust MP Yusuf Nsibambi

The top leaders in the National Unity Platform (NUP) in the Mpigi district have backed up renowned human rights activist Kawuki Peter LC. V bid to replace Martin Ssejjemba who declared recently to oust Mawokota South MP Yusuf Nsibambi.

According to our reliable source, Mr Ssejjemba Martin is going to contest for the Mawokota South MP seat, and he has already started mobilisation in the constituency.

“Ssejjemba told Us, that he is going to Mawokota South as area MP. Mr Kawuki indeed had interest in the seat too, but we convinced Kawuki to go for LC. V, since Ssejjemba Martin was not coming back for the same position,” says the source.

“Chairman Ssejjemba is also making changes in his executive to accommodate Mawokota South parliamentary ambitions,” the source added.

In a meeting of a few NUP leaders that sat in Buwama Town, it concluded the fears of the NUP party to lose the political head of the district seat, after Mr Ssejjemba’s decision.
